The wooden palace was built in the 19th century as a copy of the Paris Tuileries Palace, which struck the Buryat merchant with the luxury of balls and a beautiful garden.
When the Tuileries Palace was burned down during the French Revolution, the merchant Bichikhanov took out the valuable items that were preserved to decorate his Irkutsk palace. The palace owner himself loved to live in a yurt, which he put in the courtyard. The palace is used for receiving guests and holding balls. Although the palace was later rebuilt several times, it is impossible not to admire the porcelain lining of fireplaces, rich stucco, grace details.
