This facility of the 1940's, is a favorite for its excellent combination of lodging and good food. Its inclusion in the "E" hotel category has been proposed for 2008. The villa de Bayamo, founded in 1513 by Governor Diego Velazquez, is the cradle of the Cuban National Anthem and the place where notable patriot Carlos Manuel de Cespedes was born. This hotel is located in the city's historical central area.
