- A temporary national VAT (Value Added Tax) suspension is in effect for Uruguay, exempting all citizens from paying the VAT from December 1st, 2020 to April 4th, 2021. International travelers with a tourist visa are already exempt from this tax and will continue to be following the reincorporation of the VAT for domestic travelers.
