Located along Merchant Street, renowned for its stylish cafe's and is-Suq, an 18th century indoor market now a fully restored trendy food court and steps away from the Grand Master's Palace. Palazzo Merkanti was the residence of Pietro Roselli a wealthy Maltese goldsmith and philanthropist. Pietro was an elite member of the Knights of Malta. He commissioned the construction of the Church of the Jesuits, one of the oldest churches in Valletta, where he now rests together with his wife Aloysia Massa beneath a tombstone bearing the Roselli crest.
